Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Job purpose summary 

  • The CEO is the highest-ranked executive at the company.  The CEO has responsibility for creating, planning and implementing the strategic direction of the company. The role will manage the company’s overall resources and operations through a team of executives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide inspired leadership company wide
  • Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy
  • Report to the board of directors and keep them informed
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company
  • Develop the company’s culture and overall vision, mission and goals
  • Create and environment that promotes great performance and employee development
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting and auditing
  • Ensure compliance with legal and business regulations
  • Maintain contact with key partners, customers and shareholders
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the company
  • Work closely with the organization to ensure great hiring

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD degree in relevant discipline or MBA
  • Experience in a senior management position
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
  • Familiarity with various business functions such as marketing, sales, finance, HR etc
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven negotiations skills
