Job purpose summary 

The Director of People is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the company's human resources department, driving the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, managing recruitment and employee relations, and overseeing benefits administration. This position will also play a key role in maintaining a positive and productive work environment while ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's values and goals
  • Drive recruitment efforts to attract top talent and retain high-performing employees
  • Manage employee relations and ensure that employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively
  • Oversee benefits administration to ensure that employees are provided with competitive benefits packages
  • Provide strategic HR support to the management team and advise on HR-related matters
  • Support organizational development, design, and changes to ensure the company's HR functions align with the company's strategy
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, including addressing any employee-related issues that may arise
  • Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations and make any necessary changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance


  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in human resources, including experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including local and national regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with HR technology, such as BambooHR or equivalent


  • Self-driven, energetic, and ambitious with a focus on results
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of interpersonal relationships and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Efficient and able to make fast, high quality decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity and proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees, demonstrating empathy and approachability.
